CEOs join regulators and top scientists vowing to hold the line on Covid-19 vaccine. But will that get in the way of Trump's 'big surprise'?

Nine top developers leading the race to develop a vaccine to combat Covid-19 are presenting a unified front this morning as they jointly commit to holding the line on any new FDA approvals — insisting that anything that is green-lighted for commercial use for a mass market will have to meet high standards on safety and efficacy.

They’re joining top regulators and even the senior scientific adviser for Operation Warp Speed — GSK vet Moncef Slaoui — who have vowed to fall on their swords rather than compromise their ethical standards for some political end.
