Chan Zucker­berg Ini­tia­tive funds four grants to cre­ate re­gion­al net­works of re­searchers

When the Chan Zucker­berg Ini­tia­tive an­nounced a com­pe­ti­tion to build a new life sci­ence re­search hub in late 2021, it was un­pre­pared for the re­ac­tion. Brim­ming with big ideas for ex­plorato­ry re­search, sci­en­tists from more than 170 in­sti­tu­tions filed near­ly 60 ap­pli­ca­tions pitch­ing their cities as the ide­al spot for CZI’s next Bio­hub.

“It was an amaz­ing re­sponse,” CZI’s head of sci­ence Stephen Quake told End­points News.
