Cigna’s merg­er talks with Hu­mana have re­port­ed­ly fall­en through

Cigna has giv­en up on its plans to try and merge with Hu­mana and is in­stead look­ing to ac­quire small­er com­pa­nies in the near fu­ture, The Wall Street Jour­nal re­port­ed Sun­day.

Talks fell apart as the com­pa­nies couldn’t agree on terms sur­round­ing the deal, in­clud­ing price, the Jour­nal re­port­ed. In­stead, Cigna said Sun­day that it will re­pur­chase an ad­di­tion­al $10 bil­lion in stock.
