Con­tend­ing with Amer­i­cans’ fury at health in­sur­ers

Since last week’s shoot­ing and death of Unit­ed­Health­care CEO Bri­an Thomp­son, there’s been a wave of frus­tra­tion ex­pressed with the health in­sur­ance in­dus­try, and sup­port for the al­leged killer.

The health­care in­dus­try, as we chron­i­cle here, has no short­age of prob­lems. In the last week, it feels like the at­ten­tion on those is­sues — es­pe­cial­ly around in­sur­ance ben­e­fits — has nev­er been high­er. I can’t help but think of a decade ago, when high drug prices were at the heart of that frus­tra­tion.
