Covid-19 roundup: Biden out­lines virus plan, names Rick Bright to task force; Arc­turus reads out pos­i­tive Phase I/II vac­cine da­ta 

On the heels of win­ning the elec­tion over the week­end, pres­i­dent-elect Joe Biden has re­leased a plan for how he would com­bat the Covid-19 pan­dem­ic.

The blue­print, an­nounced on his tran­si­tion web­site, calls for sev­en main points, among them in­vest­ing $25 bil­lion in vac­cine dis­tri­b­u­tion as well as uti­liz­ing the De­fense Pro­duc­tion Act to shore up PPE sup­plies na­tion­wide. In ad­di­tion, Biden is plan­ning to set up his own Covid-19 task force led by for­mer sur­geon gen­er­al Vivek Murthy, ex-FDA chief David Kessler and Yale Med­i­cine as­so­ciate dean Mar­cel­la Nunez-Smith, the Wash­ing­ton Post re­port­ed.
