With Covid-19 vaccine production moving at a breakneck pace, some in the industry are pushing for protections against potential lawsuits.
The European pharma industry’s vaccines lobby, Vaccines Europe, has been in discussions with the EU to create protections for its members should any problems arise with new coronavirus vaccines, according to a report from the Financial Times. Given that vaccine research can generally take years and the leading developers are already in Phase III studies, the lobby is advocating exemptions from civil liability.
