Covid-19 roundup: FDA plans Covid-19 boost­er ad­comm but Pfiz­er and Mod­er­na's apps won't be dis­cussed

The FDA’s vac­cines ad­vi­so­ry com­mit­tee will meet on April 6 to dis­cuss Covid-19 vac­cine boost­ers, but the com­mit­tee will not vote on any ques­tions and nei­ther Pfiz­er nor Mod­er­na’s fourth shot ap­pli­ca­tions will be dis­cussed.

In­stead, a group of out­side sci­en­tists, aca­d­e­mics, CDC and NIH of­fi­cials will dis­cuss con­sid­er­a­tions for fu­ture Covid vac­cine boost­ers and the process for se­lect­ing spe­cif­ic strains of the SARS-CoV-2 virus for vac­cines to ad­dress cur­rent and emerg­ing vari­ants.
