Covid-19 roundup: J&J launch­ing new PhII vac­cine tri­als in Eu­rope; Ab­bott scores $760M test­ing kit or­der from HHS

As J&J plans to roll out Phase III test­ing for its Covid-19 vac­cine some­time next month, the big phar­ma is plan­ning ad­di­tion­al Phase II tri­als in the in­ter­im.

J&J will be­gin mid-stage test­ing in Spain next week, the coun­try’s health min­is­ter said on Fri­day, as well as in Ger­many and the Nether­lands per a Reuters re­port. The tri­al will take two months to com­plete and en­roll about 550 peo­ple across the three na­tions, fo­cus­ing on healthy in­di­vid­u­als aged 18 to 55 in ad­di­tion to some old­er than 65.
