Covid-19 roundup: Ex-FDA commish Gottlieb joins Republican governor's coronavirus team; Pharma approval ratings remain in the toilet

Scott Gottlieb, the shadow coronavirus czar peppering the Trump administration with ideas on how better to manage the ongoing crisis, has joined up with outspoken Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s outbreak task force.

The high profile move by the ex-FDA commissioner appointed by President Trump may well raise eyebrows in the Republican Party. Hogan has been unafraid to offer pointed criticism of the national response to date, declaring for example that America got caught flat footed by the viral disaster while offering tough projections that the response will have to last far longer than the president would care for.
