CSL takes the wraps off a big new R&D cen­ter as it eyes vac­cines, cell and gene ther­a­pies

CSL may still be best known as one of the world’s largest plas­ma providers, but as the Aus­tralian play­er opens a new R&D hub in Mar­burg, Ger­many, it’s hop­ing to make its name in a whole lot more.

Al­most three years af­ter start­ing con­struc­tion, CSL an­nounced its M600 R&D cen­ter — which cost about €150 mil­lion — will be com­plet­ed lat­er this year. On top of labs and work­space, the com­pa­ny is carv­ing out some room for star­tups from the re­gion.
