DOJ and Danco Laboratories petition Supreme Court over mifepristone restrictions

The Department of Justice and mifepristone manufacturer Danco Laboratories have petitioned the Supreme Court to review a lower court’s decision that would limit use of the abortion pill.

The petitions, filed separately on Friday, take issue with a Fifth Circuit court decision that would restrict mifepristone’s use to conditions that existed before the FDA loosened some of its regulations in 2016 and allowed the drug to be distributed by mail in 2021.
