Up­dat­ed: Ed­i­tas abrupt­ly ter­mi­nates CMO Lisa Michaels, re­veal­ing lit­tle in terse SEC fil­ing

In a sur­prise move, Ed­i­tas Med­i­cine part­ed with its top physi­cian late Mon­day af­ter­noon, not­ing in an SEC fil­ing that CMO Lisa Michaels was “ter­mi­nat­ed, ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ate­ly.”

The biotech did not give a rea­son for the de­ci­sion. Mon­day’s SEC fil­ing on­ly out­lined her sev­er­ance pack­age, and Ed­i­tas did not put out a cor­re­spond­ing press re­lease. Com­pa­ny spokesper­son Cristi Bar­nett wrote to End­points News in an email that the com­pa­ny will be­gin an ex­ter­nal search, but pro­vid­ed no time­line.
