Eli Lilly renews Twitter activity with a new handle and 'limited' advertising and posting
Eli Lilly is back on Twitter with a new handle and limited advertising and messaging. Lilly pulled its Twitter advertising and stopped posting from its original corporate@LillyPad handle last November after an imposter “verified” account spoofed the company.
The parody account posted a fake message that “insulin is free now,” with reposts shared thousands of times and racking up even more comments as Lilly scrambled to get the post taken down. However, the message ended up staying up for hours, as Elon Musk’s then-recent takeover and massive staff layoffs likely slowed the social media company’s reaction time.
