Europe faces a major new overhaul of its 20-year-old pharma legislation
When Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, referred to the Beatles song The Long and Winding Road at a press conference this morning, she was reflecting on the gargantuan task that the commission has just undertaken to re-write its two-decade-old pharma legislation.
The draft reforms, unveiled today, feature new perks for the industry but also stricter regulatory data protection limits for companies that don’t introduce new drugs across all member states.
