FDA chief taps Elizabeth Jungman as new chief of staff, starting later this month

FDA Commissioner Robert Califf has selected Elizabeth “EJ” Jungman, who currently serves as the director of the Office of Regulatory Policy in CDER, as his chief of staff, effective Jan. 28.

In an announcement Tuesday, CDER Director Patrizia Cavazzoni highlighted Jungman’s track record at ORP, saying that she has been “invaluable” at handling key issues.

“She has had a crucial impact on CDER, the Office of Regulatory Policy, and the center’s Strategic Policy Council. EJ has been invaluable in handling high-profile, politically-charged, and sensitive policy matters,” Cavazzoni said. “She will continue to be a great asset to CDER, FDA as a whole, and public health.”
