FDA makes some strides in eas­ing US can­cer drug sup­ply short­ages by work­ing with man­u­fac­tur­ers

The FDA has boost­ed its col­lab­o­ra­tion chan­nels with can­cer drug man­u­fac­tur­ers and health­care providers to im­prove the US sup­ply of cis­platin, car­bo­platin and methotrex­ate, ac­cord­ing to a White House press re­lease from Tues­day.

The cis­platin short­age first ap­peared in Feb­ru­ary, and car­bo­platin ap­peared in May. Methotrex­ate in­jec­tions en­tered the short­age list in March, and its tablet form en­tered in Ju­ly.
