Fed­er­al agen­cies launch an­titrust in­quiry in­to trans­ac­tions in health­care

A week af­ter re­ports of an an­titrust probe in­to the largest health in­sur­er in the US, fed­er­al agen­cies are ask­ing the pub­lic for ev­i­dence of “cor­po­rate greed” in health­care.

The Fed­er­al Trade Com­mis­sion, the De­part­ment of Jus­tice’s an­titrust di­vi­sion and the US De­part­ment of Health and Hu­man Ser­vices an­nounced Mon­day that they’re look­ing for in­put from the pub­lic on deals with­in health­care that may vi­o­late an­titrust reg­u­la­tions, de­crease com­pe­ti­tion or hurt work­ers.
