Florida sues FDA again over Canadian drug import plan
Florida sued the FDA to again try and launch its plan to import certain prescription drugs from Canada.
The suit, filed in Florida district court last Friday, is an attempt to compel FDA to respond to an updated FOIA request from Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration, or AHCA.
According to the complaint filed by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, the AHCA filed a FOIA request last month, asking FDA for documents related to certain proposals submitted by Florida and other states regarding drug importation plans. The request is almost identical to a previous one filed last year, but with an expanded timeline to cover materials that came out after the 2022 FOIA.
