French au­thor­i­ties in­ves­ti­gate Sanofi over mar­ket ma­nip­u­la­tion, mis­lead­ing fi­nan­cial com­mu­ni­ca­tions

A source in­side France’s Na­tion­al Fi­nan­cial Pros­e­cu­tor’s Of­fice con­firmed to End­points News on Tues­day that it ini­ti­at­ed a pre­lim­i­nary in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to French drug­mak­er Sanofi over po­ten­tial stock price ma­nip­u­la­tion and the dis­sem­i­na­tion of mis­lead­ing or false fi­nan­cial com­mu­ni­ca­tions.

The probe that be­gan last March, the de­tails of which have not been made pub­lic but were first re­port­ed last night by the French me­dia out­let La Let­tre, is al­so news to Sanofi.
