Pfiz­er, Gates Foun­da­tion and oth­ers plan to boost pro­duc­tion of con­tra­cep­tive Sayana Press

The Bill and Melin­da Gates Foun­da­tion is help­ing the ramp up the pro­duc­tion and avail­abil­i­ty of in­jectable con­tra­cep­tives for women in low­er- and mid­dle-in­come na­tions.

The or­ga­ni­za­tion, along with Pfiz­er, Bec­ton, Dick­in­son & Com­pa­ny, and the Chil­dren’s In­vest­ment Fund Foun­da­tion, plan to de­liv­er more than 320 mil­lion dos­es of the long-act­ing con­tra­cep­tive Sayana Press through 2030. Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment, the or­ga­ni­za­tions are up­dat­ing a pri­or part­ner­ship that start­ed in 2013 and are plan­ning to in­crease the man­u­fac­tur­ing ca­pac­i­ty for pro­duc­ing the con­tra­cep­tives.
