Ger­man trade union op­pos­es Bay­er’s busi­ness split pro­pos­al

Bay­er’s con­sid­er­a­tion to split apart its busi­ness units is fac­ing push­back from a Ger­man trade union, which ar­gues that the change would threat­en jobs in the coun­try.

In No­vem­ber last year, Bay­er CEO Bill An­der­son un­veiled plans to ei­ther sep­a­rate its con­sumer health or crop sci­ence di­vi­sions from the rest of the com­pa­ny or se­quen­tial­ly split up the three di­vi­sions of phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals, con­sumer health and crop sci­ence.
