Grifols family to step away further from operations; enGene CEO resigns, citing health reasons
→ Spanish plasma giant Grifols will institute more big changes at the top — and the family ties have loosened considerably once again. Nacho Abia takes over for Thomas Glanzmann as CEO on April 1, while Raimon Grifols and Víctor Grifols Deu — the father-son duo who had been co-CEOs from 2017-23 — will no longer be chief corporate officer and COO, respectively. Glanzmann had held the top spot since last May and will continue as executive chairman. The moves have been brewing since 2022, according to a press release. “The Board awaited activation until the company’s post-pandemic recovery had solidified,” it says. Both members of the family will keep their seats on the board as “proprietary directors.”
