Bristol Myers Squibb may have taken a back seat in the global R&D fight against Covid-19, but behind the scenes, the pandemic still loomed large for CEO Giovanni Caforio.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of employees while safeguarding the delivery of medicines was a key objective as the board weighed Caforio’s pay package, the company wrote in a filing. The fifth-year CEO ultimately took home $20.15 million — with close to $1.7 million in base salary and $13.5 million in stock awards.
