Il­lu­mi­na sues Guardant Health, for­mer em­ploy­ees over al­leged stolen com­pa­ny se­crets

Fol­low­ing con­tin­ued scruti­ny for its Grail ac­qui­si­tion, Il­lu­mi­na went on of­fense Wednes­day and sued two of its for­mer em­ploy­ees.

The biotech filed a com­plaint against Helmy El­toukhy and Ami­rali Ta­lasaz, two ex-staffers who went on to found di­ag­nos­tics com­pa­ny Guardant Health. Il­lu­mi­na al­leges the pair stole com­pa­ny trade se­crets and used them to launch Guardant, uti­liz­ing Il­lu­mi­na equip­ment, com­put­ers and email to do so.
