In­cyte scores soc­cer star Mia Hamm as new spokesper­son to raise aware­ness of graft-ver­sus-host dis­ease

In­cyte is team­ing up with a well-known ath­lete — and long­time bone mar­row trans­plant ad­vo­cate — for a new aware­ness cam­paign. Olympic gold medal­ist and soc­cer leg­end Mia Hamm is help­ing the bio­phar­ma raise aware­ness around post-stem cell trans­plant graft-ver­sus-host dis­ease (GVHD).

The cam­paign cen­ters on the im­por­tance of fans who “root for you no mat­ter what.” An on­line video nar­rat­ed by Hamm be­gins with soc­cer fans ar­riv­ing at a game as she suits up and heads in­to a crowd­ed sta­di­um. The video then switch­es to GVHD pa­tients among the cheer­ing fans who talk about their own net­work of fam­i­ly and sup­port­ers who are help­ing them nav­i­gate the dis­ease.
