J&J ex­pands myelo­ma and health eq­ui­ty ef­forts with fe­male hip-hop pi­o­neer MC Lyte

John­son & John­son is ad­vanc­ing its mul­ti­ple myelo­ma aware­ness and health eq­ui­ty goals with new so­cial me­dia in­flu­encers, in­clud­ing fe­male hip-hop pi­o­neer MC Lyte.

The well-known rap artist and pro­duc­er will host a Face­book Live ses­sion as part of J&J’s “That’s My Word” cam­paign on Wednes­day, along with a physi­cian re­searcher, care­giv­er and pa­tient ad­vo­cate.

The pa­tient ad­vo­cate, Thomas Goode, may not be as fa­mous as MC Lyte, but as a Black man liv­ing with mul­ti­ple myelo­ma af­ter be­ing mis­di­ag­nosed and par­tic­i­pat­ing in clin­i­cal tri­als, his ex­pe­ri­ences are at the core of what J&J is try­ing to am­pli­fy.
