J&J lays out plans for po­ten­tial Supreme Court pe­ti­tion in talc lit­i­ga­tion

John­son & John­son is pre­pared to take its talc lit­i­ga­tion to the Supreme Court as ear­ly as the first term of 2024, de­pend­ing on a po­ten­tial Third Cir­cuit ap­peals de­ci­sion, ex­ec­u­tives said dur­ing the com­pa­ny’s third-quar­ter earn­ings call Tues­day.

Faced with mount­ing law­suits al­leg­ing its talc prod­ucts con­tained as­bestos and caused can­cer, J&J spun the li­a­bil­i­ties in­to a sep­a­rate com­pa­ny called LTL Man­age­ment, which filed for bank­rupt­cy in 2021.
