J&J reaches $99M opioid settlement with West Virginia, gets cleared to exit opioid liability lawsuit
Just a short time after Endo reached a settlement with West Virginia regarding its role in the US opioid epidemic, J&J is following suit.
The mega pharma announced early Monday that it has reached a settlement with West Virginia that will see the company pay out $99 million to clear up claims specific to J&J’s alleged role in the state’s opioid crisis.
While the deal means J&J is no longer part of an ongoing trial that started two weeks ago, the company specified that the settlement is not an admission of guilt.
