De­spite his back­ground as the for­mer chief ex­ec­u­tive of phar­ma­cy ben­e­fit man­ag­er Ex­press Scripts, now owned by Cigna, Went­worth told the au­di­ence at End­points News’ event at the JP Mor­gan Health­care Con­fer­ence Tues­day that the com­pa­ny is bet­ter off with­out ac­quir­ing such a com­po­nent, un­like ri­val CVS.
