Law­mak­ers call for US in­ves­ti­ga­tion of Chi­nese con­tract re­search gi­ants

Four bi­par­ti­san law­mak­ers have urged the US gov­ern­ment to in­ves­ti­gate con­tract re­search and man­u­fac­tur­ing gi­ants WuXi AppTec and WuXi Bi­o­log­ics for al­leged Chi­nese mil­i­tary ties.

Reps. Mike Gal­lagher (R-WI) and Ra­ja Kr­ish­namoor­thi (D-IL) and Sens. Gary Pe­ters (D-MI) and Bill Hager­ty (R-TN) inked a let­ter to Com­merce Sec­re­tary Gi­na Rai­mon­do, Trea­sury Sec­re­tary Janet Yellen and De­fense Sec­re­tary Lloyd Austin on Mon­day, re­quest­ing that WuXi AppTec and WuXi Bi­o­log­ics be added to mul­ti­ple US gov­ern­ment con­trol lists.
