Lil­ly, No­vo Nordisk, Sanofi CEOs to face off with Bernie Sander­s' health com­mit­tee in May

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), chair of the Sen­ate health com­mit­tee, an­nounced this af­ter­noon that his com­mit­tee will take a deep­er look in­to the high cost of in­sulin, and will haul in the CEOs from the ma­jor in­sulin man­u­fac­tur­ers Eli Lil­ly, No­vo Nordisk and Sanofi, as well as the top ex­ec­u­tives from the ma­jor phar­ma­cy ben­e­fit man­agers of CVS Health, Ex­press Scripts, and Op­tum­RX.

All six ex­ec­u­tives will face ques­tions from Sanders’ com­mit­tee on Wednes­day, May 10, as Con­gress eyes more leg­is­la­tion to ex­tend a $35 per month cap on in­sulin costs that’s now avail­able for se­niors in Medicare.
