Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi CEOs to face off with Bernie Sanders' health committee in May
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), chair of the Senate health committee, announced this afternoon that his committee will take a deeper look into the high cost of insulin, and will haul in the CEOs from the major insulin manufacturers Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk and Sanofi, as well as the top executives from the major pharmacy benefit managers of CVS Health, Express Scripts, and OptumRX.
All six executives will face questions from Sanders’ committee on Wednesday, May 10, as Congress eyes more legislation to extend a $35 per month cap on insulin costs that’s now available for seniors in Medicare.
