Pfiz­er hits the mark with Queen and sci­ence: Pfiz­er an­nounced a last-minute jump in­to the Su­per Bowl line­up the day be­fore it aired a cel­e­bra­to­ry “Here’s to Sci­ence” 60-sec­ond com­mer­cial and a promise to tack­le can­cer.

Ad­ver­tis­ing Age gave the ad 3.5 stars, ap­plaud­ing the well-cho­sen “joy­ful” mu­sic of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” while USA To­day’s pan­el of ex­perts gave it a 5.34, rank­ing the ad 26th out of the 59 com­mer­cials it rat­ed. Pfiz­er’s ad has been viewed more than 1.1 mil­lion times on YouTube, an ex­tend­ed 2-minute ver­sion has more than 320,000 views, and a 3-minute be­hind-the-scenes mak­ing of the com­mer­cial video has topped more than 28,000 views.
