Pfiz­er CEO Al­bert Bourla talked at the an­nu­al South by South­west mu­sic, tech and cul­ture fes­ti­val about the pres­sure and politi­ciza­tion of the Covid-19 pan­dem­ic. He dis­cussed the pres­sure to cre­ate a vac­cine with “dis­ap­point­ments every day,” and the even­tu­al pol­i­tics that came in­to play in adop­tion. “The elec­tion po­lar­ized it and that was wrong,” Bourla said, ac­cord­ing to an Austin Amer­i­can-States­man re­port. He added that there are some peo­ple who will nev­er get vac­ci­nat­ed for that rea­son. Along with the vac­cine, he talked about treat­ments, in­clud­ing Pfiz­er’s oral Paxlovid an­tivi­ral which nabbed emer­gency use au­tho­riza­tion in De­cem­ber.
