Matica's cell & gene therapy site up and running in Texas
College Station, TX is known best for Aggies football. It’s slowly, but surely, making a name for itself in the world of biotech manufacturing as well, and further cemented that change this week when Matica Biotechnology announced that its newest cell and gene therapy facility is open for business.
The CDMO opened a 45,000-square-foot site good for the production of viral vectors and cell-based therapies Tuesday. The site will be used to keep up with the accelerated clinical development timelines, complexities that come with production and high demand. It’s already landed two partnerships: one with Sartorius to develop viral vectors for large-scale production, and another with its neighbor, Texas A&M University, and its Center for Innovation to speed up R&D and commercial manufacturing.
