Meal kit com­pa­ny HelloFresh is work­ing with a health in­sur­er to grow its busi­ness

HelloFresh is now of­fer­ing dis­count­ed meals to as many as 12 mil­lion Cigna in­sur­ance plan mem­bers through their em­ploy­ers.

Work­ing with a big health in­sur­er is a new kind of re­la­tion­ship for the meal kit in­dus­try, which has most­ly re­lied on sell­ing di­rect­ly to con­sumers. The meal kit de­liv­ery in­dus­try strug­gled af­ter a peak dur­ing the pan­dem­ic as peo­ple start­ed din­ing out again.
