MilliporeSigma uses DOD funds to expand Wisconsin-based manufacturing site
Merck KGaA’s MilliporeSigma is again expanding its facilities near Wisconsin’s capital, now with the federal government contract in tow.
The company kicked off the expansion at its Sheboygan location as the company is building its first lateral flow membrane production facility in the US. Lateral flow membranes are a key component in rapid diagnostic test kits for a variety of applications, including Covid-19 testing. According to the company, the new facility is supported by a $136.7 million contract awarded to MilliporeSigma from the DOD on behalf of HHS.
