Mod­er­na CEO Stéphane Ban­cel plucks new com­mer­cial chief from Mer­ck­'s top ex­ec­u­tive team

It looks like the New Mer­ck team will need to go out and re­cruit yet an­oth­er new face to join the crew of top ex­ecs now run­ning the multi­na­tion­al com­pa­ny af­ter the big shake­up fol­low­ing the de­par­ture of CEO Ken Fra­zier.

Mod­er­na CEO Stéphane Ban­cel, who pre­sides over a rad­i­cal­ly changed com­pa­ny with the multi­bil­lion-dol­lar suc­cess of its Covid vac­cine, has plucked his new com­mer­cial chief out of the Mer­ck ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee. He’s poach­ing Arpa Garay for the role, just weeks af­ter Garay was bumped up to head Hu­man Health glob­al mar­ket­ing, with re­spon­si­bil­i­ty for Mer­ck’s long-term strat­e­gy across the hu­man health port­fo­lio.
