Mod­er­na says its vac­cine is 94.5% ef­fec­tive at pre­vent­ing Covid-19, ap­pears to stop se­vere dis­ease

Sev­en days ago, no one had any da­ta to prove a Covid-19 vac­cine could work. Now, two ap­pear to be ef­fec­tive in large scale tri­als.

Mod­er­na an­nounced on Mon­day that its vac­cine was 94.5% ef­fec­tive at pre­vent­ing Covid-19, match­ing or beat­ing the re­sults Pfiz­er and their part­ner BioN­Tech re­leased last week and po­ten­tial­ly giv­ing the world a sec­ond key weapon against a virus that is now surg­ing to record lev­els. Pfiz­er said their vac­cine was “more than 90%” ef­fec­tive.
