Months after IPO, Italian vial company lands BARDA investment as government looks to shore up pandemic preparedness
BARDA has enlisted the help of an Italian drug containment company to expand its manufacturing capacity in Fishers, IN for vial production, the company announced Tuesday.
Stevanato will get $95 million from the Department of Defense through the joint program executive office for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense and army contracting command. The Indiana plant will expand its standard and EZ-Fill vial capacity to prepare for future pandemic preparedness. It will also provide BARDA-associated pharma and drug development partners with priority access to vials going forward, if necessary.
