NIH pan­el let­ter ac­cused As­traZeneca of em­bell­ish­ing the da­ta for its Covid-19 vac­cine — re­port

The in­tense crit­i­cism al­ready lev­eled against As­traZeneca on its Covid-19 vac­cine reached fever pitch on Tues­day af­ter­noon af­ter the Wash­ing­ton Post re­port­ed that the NIH’s safe­ty over­sight pan­el had called them out for us­ing “out­dat­ed and po­ten­tial­ly mis­lead­ing” da­ta in its Mon­day press re­lease claim­ing pos­i­tive re­sults. And the ex­perts called out the phar­ma gi­ant for fur­ther un­der­cut­ting pub­lic con­fi­dence in the sci­en­tif­ic process used to con­firm these vac­cines.
