Non­prof­it tracks surge in med­ica­tion abor­tions as SCO­TUS gears up for hear­ing

Med­ica­tion abor­tions ac­count­ed for 63% of US abor­tions last year, due in part to ex­pand­ed ac­cess via tele­health ser­vices, ac­cord­ing to new da­ta from the Guttmach­er In­sti­tute. An on­go­ing le­gal bat­tle could change that.

The non­prof­it’s analy­sis comes a week be­fore oral ar­gu­ments are ex­pect­ed to be­gin in a Supreme Court case that could re­strict ac­cess to the com­mon­ly used abor­tion pill mifepri­s­tone.
