No­vo Nordisk bol­sters op­er­a­tions in Chi­na with $556M ex­pan­sion project

No­vo Nordisk is putting up about $556 mil­lion, or 4 bil­lion yuan, to amp up its man­u­fac­tur­ing ca­pac­i­ty in Chi­na, the com­pa­ny an­nounced Tues­day.

No­vo held a ground­break­ing cer­e­mo­ny for the project on Tues­day, which fea­tured lead­ers from the Dan­ish em­bassy in Chi­na, the Tian­jin mu­nic­i­pal­i­ty and oth­er of­fi­cials. It marked the 30th an­niver­sary of No­vo do­ing busi­ness in Chi­na. The project is aimed at us­ing iso­la­tor tech­nol­o­gy, which cre­ates a bar­ri­er be­tween the ster­ile prod­uct and the sur­round­ing en­vi­ron­ment, to im­prove the pro­duc­tion process.
