Pfizer agrees to $2M settlement deal over gender discrimination allegations

Pfizer will pay $2 million to clear allegations from the US Department of Labor that it underpaid female employees at its New York City headquarters compared to men in similar jobs.

That amount includes just over $1.2 million in back pay and nearly $738,000 in interest, according to documents published by the DOL. The agency accused Pfizer of discriminating against 86 women after conducting a compliance review from Jan. 1, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2016.
