Pfizer scores an 'A' on gender and racial pay equity report, while Biogen flunks

The ongoing pandemic has only exacerbated racial and gender pay gaps across the board, according to Arjuna Capital and Proxy Impact’s latest scorecard. And while biopharma darling Pfizer has scored itself an A on the pay equity front, it looks like Biogen’s report card could spell out even more trouble for the embattled biotech.

Biogen was one of 24 companies to receive an F on Arjuna and Proxy’s fifth annual racial and gender pay scorecard. This year’s scorecard looked at 57 major US companies, and Pfizer was one of seven — including Mastercard, Starbucks and Adobe — at the top of the class. Disney, Goldman Sachs, Walmart and others joined Biogen in receiving failing grades.
