Pfizer can breathe a little easier after a federal judge on Wednesday dismissed a proposed class-action lawsuit over several recalled batches of its popular smoking cessation drug Chantix.

The legal battle dates back to June when Pfizer halted distribution of Chantix after finding elevated levels of a potential carcinogen. In July, the pharma giant had recalled nine lots of the drug due to contamination from N-nitroso-varenicline — a chemical compound that scientists say has the potential to cause cancer.
