Pharma TV drug ads surge among more than half of leading health condition categories in Q1
While Big Pharma first quarter earnings continue to roll out this week, the total is already in for the industry’s TV ad spending. Much like the financial results, it’s a mixed bag of ups and downs, according to data provided by real-time TV ad tracker iSpot.tv.
About half of the prescription drug categories iSpot tracks notched ad impression increases, while the other half dropped. Allergy, cold and flu meds saw the biggest year-over-year jump by 208%, followed by bladder and gastrointestinal drugs (up 135%) and immune system diseases (up 106%).
