Sanofi and Harris Poll global hemophilia study finds ‘troubling disconnect’ between patients and providers

Sanofi wants to open up conversations about hemophilia, especially between people living with the condition and their doctors.

Driving its ambition are insights from a new Harris Poll survey commissioned to query patients, caregivers and hematologists from around the world and find noticeable gaps between patients’ and providers’ perspectives.

More than half (54%) of patients, for example, reported having fair or poor health, yet 71% tell their healthcare providers they are doing fine. Only 35% of patients think their hematologist involves them in treatment discussions. Meanwhile, 84% of hematologists said they want patients to be more involved in treatment decisions.
