Sanofi un­veils $476M vac­cine plant in Sin­ga­pore, bring­ing its to­tal out­lay to $1.7B in the field for past year

Sanofi is ready to spend mon­ey on man­u­fac­tur­ing to pre­pare for the next glob­al pan­dem­ic, and they aren’t be­ing shy about it. In the lat­est in a flur­ry of moves, the French drug­mak­er an­nounced it will in­vest €400 mil­lion — rough­ly $476.26 mil­lion — at a new site in Sin­ga­pore.

The move, an­nounced Mon­day, will help com­ple­ment Sanofi’s ex­ist­ing man­u­fac­tur­ing fa­cil­i­ties in Eu­rope and North Amer­i­ca, and will help re­spond quick­ly to pan­dem­ic risks in the fu­ture. The project is ex­pect­ed to cre­ate up to 200 lo­cal jobs and up Sin­ga­pore’s sta­tus as a home to in­no­va­tion in the health­care in­dus­try. EVP Thomas Tri­om­phe said:
