Sen­ate health com­mit­tee to vote on rare sub­poe­nas for J&J and Mer­ck CEOs over drug pric­ing tes­ti­mo­ny

Sen­ate Health, Ed­u­ca­tion, La­bor and Pen­sions Com­mit­tee Chair Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said Thurs­day that he will hold a vote on whether to is­sue sub­poe­nas for John­son & John­son CEO Joaquin Du­a­to and Mer­ck CEO Robert Davis, both of whom are re­fus­ing to pro­vide tes­ti­mo­ny about “why their com­pa­nies charge sub­stan­tial­ly high­er prices for med­i­cine in the U.S. com­pared to oth­er coun­tries,” Sanders said in a state­ment.
